A new home for the photographs

A short note on why this site exists, what's in it, and how it will grow over time.

For a long time, my photographs have lived in folders with names like Ranthambore-March and Bharatpur-Birds-2024. Friends would ask to see something and I'd send a Drive link, or pull out a phone, or promise to send later and forget.

This site is the slow version of that promise. A place to keep the frames I keep coming back to, written down in the only honest way I know — with the long, slow story of how each one happened.

What's here

  • A growing gallery of photographs. Every frame is something I shot, on a trip I actually took, with light I had to wait for.
  • Field notes — these blog entries — for the longer stories. The trips, the gear thoughts, the small decisions, the misses.
  • An about page for the day job side of life: software, databases, systems thinking. Two halves that turn out to be more related than they look.

What's coming

Travel. Cars. Music. Cards. Each will get its own corner when there's enough material to deserve one. For now, wildlife is what has the strongest gravity, and that's where the site begins.

If you've found your way here through a tiger, a kingfisher, or by accident from somewhere on the internet — welcome. Stay as long as you like.
